We Built this City

Jun 23, 2009 by Lisa Newton

Every once in awhile, we pause and take a look at our surroundings. Sometimes, we basque in its glory because we never really looked around before.

From arched hallways, to wrought iron rails, to hanging chandeliers, to carefully carved wooden doors, to magnificent swimming pools, to carved works of art on cinder on a building’s facade, to the ultra modern and sleek nouveau modern style of architecture, Los Angeles is a dynamic city–our aim is to celebrate its mixture of old, new, and ever-changing.

A Whole Lot of Los Angeles Talent, Dedication, and Passion

LWPLAIs the measurement of what propels our city and its residents toward the cutting edges of commerce, entertainment, education, arts, sciences, technology, politics and is the sine qua non of our history and endeavors.

Let’s face facts, with California’s and Los Angeles’ storied and preeminent part of history and lore, we lead the world in fields that others can only hope to emulate.

To that end, it’s our mission and motivation to create a place where all Los Angeles based digital and interactive writers can congregate and call home.

Live Work Play LA

To that end, I’d like to invite all Los Angeles bloggers to join our new network called Live Work Play LA.

It’s mission is to be the comprehensive reference guide for all Los Angeles based writers and websites who write, traverse, and cover the massive amount of topics spanning the spectra of human endeavor.

Defiance Courage ActionOur backgrounds and professions are as diverse as mothers, lawyers, bikers, artists, and doctors– and any other vocation you can think of. We might live in Beverly Hills, Long Beach, or Pasadena, but we all call Los Angeles home.

We all share the daily grind and prerequisite of having similarity in our forms of government, a temperate weather, and on no account, a never ending fight against urban sprawl and traffic jams.

What we don’t have is a comprehensive source for everything for and by Los Angeles writers, websites, and bloggers that put their deeds to words–and words to deeds–which is why Live Work Play LA is important and plays a role in our digital economy.

How to Sign up and Get Listed

We’ll be the new go-to place and central organization that indexes, promotes, and creates a global network of Los Angeles based publishers and content creators.

To that end we’ve created our own collective home on the Internet. To be included, fill out the contact form here.

As in real life, we’re the place to see and be seen on the Web.

To the degree and kind that you’ve envisioned and conceptualized a LA based information network, it looks to me as nothing more than pure genius on your part.

@David, Well, I’m not sure about the genius part, but I do love the idea of having a home for Los Angeles bloggers where they can find other like minded individuals.
