Walkways are Streets in Venice

Dec 19, 2010 by Lisa Newton

Part of Los Angeles’ charm is the various “streets” that aren’t really streets at all.

For example, if you’ve ever been to the Music Box Steps, which isn’t just the name of the stairs, but also the name of a “street,” you’d discover houses that are only accessible via the stairs.

Venice has something similar to this, but in this case, the “streets” are actually walkways.

Because the smaller streets are “walkways,” I’ve highlighted a few of these via the walk in the map below.

Based on my personal experience, walking is the best way to enjoy Venice, especially as you’re able to traverse the walkways which are close to the beach.

If you decide to drive here to enjoy all that Venice has to offer, street parking is available, especially on Main Street and the neighboring side streets.

I love the concept. I have always liked Venice, but now I can see why the residents must love it.
