The LA County Fair is Opening on September 4

Aug 22, 2010 by Lisa Newton

What do corn dogs, pigs, carnival rides, and monster trucks have in common?

The LA County Fair–of course!.

Opening day is right around the corner beginning on Saturday, September 4th, and if you want to save money on Fair tickets, this is your last week to purchase them at a discount.

Normally, weekday tickets for the over 13 crowd cost $12.00, and weekend tickets are $17.00. But, if you purchase your tickets by August 31st, they’re only $10.00. There’s also a special online price for kids, too.

However if you can’t attend opening weekend, for the best deal, purchasing a 24.00 Season Pass can’t be beat–because it’s good for admission on any day of the Fair for all ages 6 and older.

For parking upgrades (only on weekdays) – show your Season Pass to a Fair parking employee at the time of purchase and receive a free weekday parking upgrade ($5 value).

But, opening weekend offers the best deal of all, but remember, there will be crowds. Like in the movie, “Field of Dreams,” if you build it they will come–and come they will to the opening festivities at the LA County Fair!

Opening Weekend $1 Specials – Labor Day weekend, Saturday, Sept. 4th – Monday, Sept. 6th

  • Admission –$1, 10 a.m. – 1. p.m., regular admission rates apply after 1 p.m.

  • Beverages – $1 for 22 oz. soft drinks at all food and beverage stands, 1 – 4 p.m.

Carnival – $1 rides, games and select food and beverage items, in the carnival, 4–7p.m.

Headling will include stars including Rick Springfield, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Selena Gomez and the Scene, Boyz II Men, and Bad Company, just to name a few.
