The East Side of Los Angeles on a Clear Day

Jul 31, 2010 by Lisa Newton

Los Angeles is full of many different people, cultures, neighborhoods, and things to do. I’m always amazed at the variety of our city’s diversity.

One problem that’s the subject of much lore, is that living in such a large city that is so spread out, is not getting the opportunity to visit other parts of the city and learn about them.

I hear stories of Westsiders who never get to the Eastside, and visa versa. Southlanders don’t go to the Valley, and Valley people don’t go to Pasadena.

It’s really a shame that we aren’t able to try make a more sustained effort to travel to other neighborhoods; but this dilemma is not without reason–traffic, our busy schedules and responsibilities, and and just plain old time, are all limiting factors.

However, today, I discovered a wonderful video over at Lorange Blog. I’m new follower of Lorange’s musings, but I’m really looking forward to reading more and more about what she’s posting:

It makes one think very serous about always moving because every area in our vast city has a different tale to tell.
