The 2010 Amgen Tour of California is coming to Los Angeles

Get ready because on May 22nd, the 2010 Amgen Tour of California will be coming to LA LIVE in Stage 7 with a 21-mile individual time trial.

With the backdrop of such downtown landmarks as the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Exposition Park, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, University of Southern California, and Los Angeles City Hall, each bike rider will complete two laps of the 10.5-mile circuit, which starts and ends at LA LIVE.

What is the Amgen Tour of California?

The 2010 Amgen Tour of California is the largest cycling event in America. It’s similar to the annual Tour de France-style cycling road race. It challenges the world’s top professional cycling teams and riders to compete along demanding courses that takes place during multiple areas and days–from May 16th-23rd.

Because LA is Stage 7 of this eight stage event, here are the previous locations in California that the race has been so far:

So be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, May 22nd. The race starts at 1:00pm, but arriving early will probably get you the best vantage point to see and enjoy the race.

The cyclists are expected to cross the finish line at LA LIVE around 4:15pm.
