12 Beautiful Doors of Hollywoodland
Doors open opportunities and are a symbol and metaphor, literally and physically, for new opportunities and hope. The existence of Hope affords man his basic human tendencies for his inalienable rights, and affords him his basic spiritual requirement for the future. With newfound hope we’re able to grow and change.
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. Helen Keller
In the neighborhood, Hollywoodland, I discovered eclectic doors, old doors, new doors, decorated doors, and multi-story doors.
Pick the doors you want to open
Most importantly, always have hope and climb the stairway to accomplish your own dreams.
You never know where they might take you; maybe those dreams might even bring you Travelin’ Local to Southern California.
I’m adding a close up view of this door for so one of Travelin’ Local’s readers can get a better look.

@Lance, hehe, you picked the door and steps that feature the Malibu Tiles. What great craftsmanship. I never tire of finding these tiles. Many of the older buildings have them.

@Kim, I had so much fun photographing them. It seemed as each corner I turned, a new, unique, and beautiful door presented itself.

Fantastic collection of door photos. I’m a real sucker for these!
I love that little red house, very charming. It’s interesting the door (or wall?) with the Pacific Northwest native imagery, any idea what it is?

@Kevin, That’s a great question. It is a door, and the uniqueness just struck me as soon as I saw it. I added a closer look at the door I think you’re referring to. Do you have any idea what the totem poles mean?

@LisaNewton, Hi Lisa,
I should know the meaning as I must have photographed about 80 totem poles up here over the past few years but I read up on the meanings and family importance and then it slips my aging mind.
